Our Story starts in the summer of 2011. During the summer of 2011 Kaci got a job working at Home Depot in Kyle, TX in the Paint and Garden departments, which is only 15 minutes from school in San Marcos. As she worked there full time she made many friends and got to know a lot of other Texas State students as her fellow co-workers.

On the other side of the store was one of the lumber associates that had two jobs. He worked very hard and really kept to himself at work since he had to report to his job at the pool after his morning shift at the HD. 

As months went by a guy named Carter started working in Paint and kept talking to Kaci about this guy named Alejandro in lumber that he enjoyed hanging out with and talking to at work. One day he pointed him out to her and they started talking. Slowly they became friend and started hanging out outside of work. 

Carter, who always makes jokes kept messing with Kaci saying that "yall are going to date". However, Kaci was so sure that it was never going to happen that she was in denial for months. After many months talking and working together, he finally asked her out in October of 2012. 

Come to find out: In 2009, Kaci and Alejandro both prepared to move into their new homes at Texas State University, Kaci at Laurel Hall and Alejandro into Brogdon Hall. Both were accepted into the University's Residential life community. In this community, the students enroll in the same classes and have monthly socials in order to meet other new students in the community. They had actually attended many of these socials, crossed paths several times, and never met until 2011.

After three years of dating, Alejandro felt it was time to pop the question, and he figured out the perfect way to ask her. He took her up to Illinois for Christmas in 2015 to see her family (so she thought). After a couple days there they drove down to Memphis to see Graceland, a stop she has always wanted to go to and has never seen.

Early morning on December 30, 2015 they got up and made their way to Graceland for a tour of Elvis' home, planes, and cars. Alejandro allowed Kaci to go through the tour so that she can take it all in and at the end as they waited for the bus to take them back across the street he takes her and her dad to the front of the house to take some last minute pictures. As our "photographer" snaps some shots he gets down and asks her to marry him. Shocked, excited, and impressed that he came up with this elaborate plan she said YES!
