How we got engaged
Jonathan really outdid himself here! He planned a whole big sheband that EVERYONE seemed to know about except Courtney. She just KNEW she was getting engaged on their "vacation", but she didn't even know where they were going. After a grueling, long, and torturous drive to Florida, (Courtney still not aware exactly where they were going) they pulled off the Cape Canaveral exit. She looked at all of the beautiful cruise ships sitting in port and said, "WOW! Those boats are HUGE!" Jonathan, in his normal quick-witted-response kind of way, replied, "you're gonna be on that one" and pointed to the Carnival Liberty ship. She was just so shocked and overwhelmed she couldnt think straight! They boarded the ship, explored, found their room, received their luggage, got ready, and went to meet their tablemates. They ate lightly because Jonathan had booked a reservation at The Diamond Steakhouse for directly afterwards. They finished their small meal and went to their special dinner reservations. The restaurant was bsolutely beautiful! Jonathan convinced Courtney to get the Surf N' Turf (great decision)! They sat talking about how shocked and overwhelmed Courtney was after all of these surprises...and how amazing the food was! Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" was playing in the background. The restaurant was small and quiet, except for a few customers, but soon it seemed to finally quiet down, even though Courtney's (and Jonathan's) nerves were in an uproar! She wasn't sure if it was the nerves or if she felt motion sick. Jonathan tried distracting her and said, "five years ago, did you think we would be here?" and Courtney immediatly blurted out, "No?!" She couldn't concentrate on his lovely questions because she was too focused on taking in the environment and keeping her super yummy, super expensive dinner down. She said, "UGH! This ship is gonna get me!" as she grabbed her stomach. Jonathan said, "not before I do", stood up, dropped to his knee, and asked her to be his wife! THIS WAS THE MOMENT SHE HAD WAITED SO LONG FOR! WHY COULDN'T SHE RESPOND? She kept asking if he was serious and if this was real. She just KNEW Jonathan's "style" was certainly not to ask on the first day! But he was for real for real! After he got frustrated with her for not giving him an answer, he basically said, "you gonna marry me or not?!" lol. She said yes, crying tears of job and all. The entire restaurant clapped and cheered for them. She even heard the waiters talking amongst themselves saying, "OMG! How sweet. Wait! Did she say yes?!" hahaha They then got a private magic show in the restaurant and so much dessert they absolutely could not finish it! She truly hates wasting food, but it was okay because nothing matter more to her than the man next to her! And lemme tell you, she stared at the ring for the next 6 days straight! |
