On Easter Sunday, 2013, Christina's family said their traditional prayer and prepared to eat their traditional (and amazingly delicious) 4-course meal. This year, something different took place though.
Jeff stood up after prayer to say a little something of his own. He spoke of some recent tough times that he had faced and of how Easter meant more to him this year than it ever had before. He thanked Christina’s family for accepting him and Sierra as their own. At that moment, he began to say that he could not think of a better time than that day, with the family present, to do something incredible.
With that, Jeff pulled a small maroon box from his pocket, and family members began to shriek in excitement and surprise. Jeff got down on one knee and said “Christina Marie Proffitt, will you be my wife?” With tears of joy she said yes and, as Jeff had casually mentioned before that day even began, that became the best Easter they had ever had together. |
