Dave and I first met at George F. Baker High School. He was in my math class and I being the nerd, didn't really think twice, let alone look. He sat behind me my entire freshman year. If only I knew then what I know now... We reconnected after graduation, when I was in college. I was ready for a change, and here was this friendly guy who wanted to reconnect and get to know the real me. Our first "date" took place over Skype, since I was away from our home town. We talked for 5 hours straight, never having a moment of awkward silence as we never ran out of things to talk about. I knew he was special, and he made me feel special, but even then, I didn't imagine it would get to this point. Throughout our dating, he never played games. He always made it clear he wanted our relationship to go somewhere, a refreshing relief. He would drive the 3 and a half hours just to spend a day with me, before needing to return home for work the following day. One time, he came for less than 24 hours, all because I had a stressful and exhausting week and needed a friend. He IS my best friend, and always challenges me to be the best person I can be. It’s for these reasons, and thousands more, that when he got down on one knee (in the frigid New Year’s Eve air 3 years ago), and asked me to marry him, I immediately said yes! Our journey together is just beginning, we have faced many trials and have surpassed them all. I know that we will find success in all we do. Its who we are. =)
