Free Attractions

There are a ton of great free attractions you can take advantage of while in Vegas! Here are some of the best finds on and off the Strip.

Dancing Fountains at the Bellagio

Dancing Fountains at the Bellagio

Located in front of the Bellagio along the Strip, over 1000 fountains dance to the works of Frank Sinatra and others as music and light perform together with choreographed water jetting over 220 feet into the sky. Best easy access viewing is from the sidewalk directly in front. Performances begin Monday-Friday at 3pm, Saturday-Sunday at 12pm and continue every half hour until 6pm and then every 15 minutes until 12am.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Crafted by a team of more than 100 horticulturalists, the Bellagio's conservatory features elegant, elaborate arrangements of plants and flowers in its bright, airy atrium.

Admire the essence of every season recreated with exceptionally gorgeous plants, flowers and trees thoughtfully arranged to inspire full splendor.

In March the tulips are blazing with rich colors and the butterflies are dancing around the habitat. The air is filled with that familiar spring scent and you can just feel the warm weather around the corner.

Volcano at the Mirage

Volcano at the Mirage

In front of the Mirage Hotel & Casino you will find a peaceful dormant-looking volcano. But after 6pm each evening, this volcano blows its top in a show-stopping eruption. Over 54 feet tall, the lava flows freely down the sides of the volcano into pools of water and fire, surrounded by gorgeous waterfalls and tropical floral life. It continues to erupt every 15 minutes until 12am.

Lion Habitat at MGM Grand

Lion Habitat at MGM Grand

Located inside the MGM Grand, this glass enclosed habitat allows visitors to walk around, above, below and through the center of a grand lion pride. Be sure to bring your camera for a personal picture of lions like you've never before seen them. Adult lions are on display and ready for photo taking from 11am-11pm, the baby lion cubs have an earlier bedtime and can be seen and photographed 11am-5pm.

When they're not on display, the lions live on an 8.5-acre ranch located 12 miles from the MGM Grand.

The Sirens of Treasure Island

The Sirens of Treasure Island

Replacing the original Buccaneer Bay show in 2004 is the sexy sirens pirate show. Renegade pirates are lured inside the Siren's Cove by the siren songs. The singing stirs up a tempest strong enough to sink a ship and turning the entire cove into a 21st century party complete with pyrotechnics and music. The sirens take ship nightly at 5:30pm, 7pm, 8:30pm and 10pm, weather permitting.

M&M’s World

M&M’s World

Stepping into M&M’s World is like waking up in chocolate heaven -- four floors of chocolate heaven, that is. Those "melt in your mouth not in your hand" candies are the highlight of this attraction.

If you're coming in from the Strip, you'll notice the charming seasonal display in the front window. Once you set foot inside this M&M's wonderland, you'll immediately feel the energy of its bright colors and upbeat music.

The second floor is truly phenomenal. From teal to light purple, the rainbow wall features 22 different M&M's colors -- what a treat!

The third floor is dedicated entirely to collector's items.

On the fourth and final floor, you'll find suitcases, lunch bags, home décor and even sweaters for your pet. On this floor, you'll also get an up-close look at #18, a replica of Kyle Busch's M&M's sponsored race car.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

Although predominantly a place to shop and dine, this indoor mall has a few unique attractions to offer as well. Foremost are the animated statues and laser show at the center pavilion. "Statue Animations" are about every half hour and are nearly unbelievable. While there, keep an eye on the sky-like ceiling which very subtlety changes from dawn to dusk over the course of about a half an hour

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

Appropriately enough, the Flamingo resort on the Strip is home to a flock of live Chilean Flamingos! These birds, as well as a collection of other feathered friends, fascinate our guests and populate our Wildlife Habitat.

On this 15-acre desert menagerie you will also find swans, ducks, penguins, koi, and turtles. All of the animals are carefully tended by experts and live on islands and streams surrounded by sparkling waterfalls and lush foliage.

No entry fee. Penguin feeding daily at 3:00 pm.

Fremont Street Experience

Fremont Street Experience

Located high above the pedestrian mall in downtown Las Vegas, this canopy consists of over 2 million lights. This light & sound show, which changes periodically, can be seen over head and heard in stereo surround sound every hour on the hour beginning at dusk. The last show is at 11pm on Sun-Thurs and 12 am Fri & Sat.

Fremont Street is a five-block downtown pedestrian promenade featuring 10 casinos, 10,000 slots, and more than 60 restaurants, bars, and lounges.

Show in the Sky at the Rio Hotel

Show in the Sky at the Rio Hotel

Experience the excitement of Brazil's Carnivale!

This $25 Million spectacle features dozens of lighted "Mardi Gras" style parade floats accompanied by lively music with exotically costumed, dancing inhabitants.

The Roller Coaster at New York-New York

The Roller Coaster at New York-New York

Where can you experience towering drops, multiple loops and stunning views of the Strip?

Set in a perfect postcard shot, the rollercoaster's surroundings include a replica of the New York harbor, a 150-foot model of the Statue of Liberty as well as several of Manhattan’s popular buildings. And to make things even more fun, the roller coaster trains are designed like New York taxicabs.

Cost: $14 per person. Second-time riders can purchase an additional ticket for $7. Both tickets should be purchased at the same time.

The Eiffel Tower Experience

The Eiffel Tower Experience

For those who want to take romance to another level, the Eiffel Tower Experience at the Paris Las Vegas captures this vibe perfectly.

Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, visitors can catch great views nearly 50 storeys above the ground. From the observation deck, which stands at 460 feet, guests are able to see the entire valley as well as awe-inspiring views of the city's international airport.

Cost: $10 for adults; $7 for children.
From 7:30 p.m. - close: Admission is $15 for adults. Express Pass is $22.

Gondola Ride at the Venetian

Gondola Ride at the Venetian

From the soothing sound of water lapping the sides of the gondola to the eloquent singing of the gondoliers, passengers will feel as if they have truly been transported to Italy.

The indoor gondolas make their way through the Grand Canal Shoppes, beneath bridges and below the quaint shops and cafés that line the canal running through the Grand Canal Shoppes.

The half-mile ride lasts about 14 minutes and is a great way to get a unique view of the shops. Surrounded by a ceiling emulating blue sky as well as architecture inspired by Venice landmarks, a gondola trip down the Grand Canal delivers a unique Vegas experience.

Outdoor gondolas take the authenticity of the Venetian gondola ride one step further. Although two minutes shorter at 12 minutes long, the views afforded on the outdoor version more than make up for the shorter ride.

Cost: $16 per person. Children 2 years old and younger are free. A private, two-passenger gondola ride is available for $64.

Rides at Stratosphere

Rides at Stratosphere

INSANITY: Spins passengers at up to three Gs. While sitting in your escape proof seat, you'll be lifted up at a thrilling, 70-degree angle -- all while reaching speeds up to 40 mph. With views of the Las Vegas Strip more than 900 feet below, this ride combines both a physical and psychological rush.

BIG SHOT: On the Stratosphere's Big Shot, you'll take off so fast, you'll actually feel like the rocket itself. The Big Shot whisks you 160 feet in the air in an astounding 2.5 seconds. Get a feel of weightlessness as 4 Gs of force literally lift you off your seat. You'll then drop to shocking one negative G.

The initial free-fall drop is so intense, most riders are too shocked to express their emotions immediately.

X-SCREAM: This is definitely the ride of a lifetime. The open vehicle sits on a 69-foot-long roller coaster track, which is mounted to the base of the Stratosphere Tower's pod. But unlike the typical roller coaster track that takes you back to the ground, this one stops in midair at a 30-degree angle.

Just when you think you're going to fall face first, the track teeters backward. The vehicle then slides back and forth across the pivoting track.

Cost: $12 ($21.95 with admission to Stratosphere Tower). Tickets to ride the Big Shot, Insanity and X Scream are $29.95. Tickets for two rides is $25.95. An all-day ride pass is also available for $35.95. All of these packages include admission to the Stratosphere Tower.

Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat

Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat

The wildest part of Las Vegas isn't necessarily the nightlife.

Right on the Strip in the Mirage is an attraction that defines wild in Vegas in a whole new way. Welcome to The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage Las Vegas where tigers, panthers, leopards and dolphins enjoy the Vegas sun and a posh resort like the millions of human tourists who visit the city each year.

Surrounded by palm trees, lush foliage and 2.5 million gallons of water, the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage is truly an oasis on the Las Vegas Strip. Whether the Atlantic bottlenose dolphins who call the habitat home are swimming, "tail walking" across water, catching fish or bonding with each other, you'll get an up-close and personal look at their fun, intriguing lifestyle.

Just steps away from the Dolphin Habitat, guests can enter the wonderful, secluded world of beautiful wildcats.

The Secret Garden stands out from other animal habitats because it features black and white striped tigers as well as pure white ones. With their distinctive fur color and crystal blue eyes, the cats almost seem unreal. The Secret Garden is home to six leopards and two black leopards, all of which are endangered species. Visitors can witness these cubs pounce and play in a specially built nursery.

Cost: Admission to both exhibits can be had for $15 for adults, $10 for children 4-12 and free for children under 3.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

The ocean is probably the last thing people think of when they visit the dry desert of Las Vegas, but the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is changing that.

Housing more than 1,200 species of marine life including sharks, exotic fresh and saltwater fish, a 300-pound sea turtle and much more, Shark Reef offers the aquatic experience of a lifetime.

Shark Reef is reminiscent of an ancient temple slowly sinking into the ocean. The tunnel, which houses five species of sharks and the aquarium's largest animals, is designed to look like a sunken shipwreck and contains an astounding 1.3 million gallons of water. Here, visitors can witness a scuba diver's view of these mesmerizing creatures.

Cost: $16.95 for adults, $10.95 for children 5-12. Children age 4 and under are admitted free.

Ferrari Maserati Showroom at Wynn

Ferrari Maserati Showroom at Wynn

Located in Wynn Las Vegas, the Ferrari-Maserati showroom is Nevada's only factory-authorized Ferrari and Maserati dealership and displays more than a dozen vehicles exceeding prices of $700,000. Extremely rare and sought after, they draw thousands of people to the 10,000-square-foot showroom each day.

The showroom draws quite a crowd, and less than 35 visitors are allowed in at one time, so be prepared to wait in line for a few minutes.

Cost: $10.

Luxor Exhibitions: Bodies... & Titanic - The Artifacts

Luxor Exhibitions: Bodies... & Titanic - The Artifacts

BODIES...: Bodies will easily trump any science lab dissection you’ve done in school. With an intricate, 3D vision of the human form, visitors get the chance to see real bodies, preserved along with their inner organs. The exhibit showcases 13 whole-body specimens from China and more than 260 organs and partial body specimens. There are nine rooms dedicated to different parts of the body, including the muscular, nervous, circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems.

There is also a more sensitive section of the exhibition showing fetal development. Guests can see different stages of a baby's development, from eight weeks old to eight months, as well as fetuses with various birth defects, such as conjoined twins. This exhibit is located in its own private area, so those who feel uncomfortable viewing it can skip to the next section.

TITANIC - THE ARTIFACTS: If you loved the 1997 movie “Titanic,” then the Titanic exhibit at the Luxor will blow you away.

Featuring more than 300 artifacts, as well as breathtaking replicas from the famous ship, the Titanic exhibit truly brings history to life.
At the beginning of the exhibit, patrons receive a boarding pass of an actual passenger on Titanic. On the back of each boarding pass is the age and the itinerary of that person. At the end of the tour, patrons find out if he or she survived the Titanic by finding the name on the wall memorial.
