"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your way submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. " Proverbs 3:5-6

Since they were kids, both Peter and Michelle were successful race car drivers. Both grew up with supportive families and dedicated fathers who worked hard to provide the best cars and opportunities they could afford for their kids. Neither Peter nor Michelle had a "famous" last name or limitless checkbooks. What they did have were families and peers that believed in them and supported them in pursuing their racing careers.

The two crossed paths in 2003 when they both began racing Late Models at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia. Peter had landed a big a sponsor, and with their help, saw great success and captured many wins at Lanier. At the same time, Lanier opened opportunities for Michelle, that led to her decision to move to Mooresville, North Carolina upon graduating High School.

Although their racing dreams lived on, both Peter and Michelle eventually went on to explore new career opportunities – Peter stayed in Georgia to pursue building a landscape business with his best friend and start a family, and Michelle commuted between North Carolina and Florida to become a successful leader in the gun industry.

Still, what neither of them knew is that their time racing together at Lanier , was only the beginning of the story they had yet to write together.

Before they truly reconnected more than a decade later, Peter had messaged Michelle randomly on Facebook. He was bringing his girls up to the Mooresville area and wanted Michelle to give him some restaurant options on Lake Norman. Michelle gave Peter some recommendations, and that was the extent of the conversation.

Time went on, and Michelle was still living in North Carolina, and Peter was still in Georgia. Fast forward to 2015-2016, a time when both Peter and Michelle were going through a lot of personal hardships in their relationships: Peter had recently ended his relationship, and Michelle found herself in the middle of a divorce. Both were busy with work which kept them occupied, but there was still something that was missing. They randomly caught themselves checking out each other's Facebook pages, and they exchanged occasional messages just to check on one another.

Later that year, Michelle traveled "home" to Alpharetta, Georgia, for her company holiday party. She mentioned to Peter that she would be in town, and if he was in the area, it would be great to catch up and say hello.

Not thinking much about it, Michelle headed to Georgia for the party. At dinner she heard from Peter, and they both agreed they'd like to meet up. That night, Peter drove to Alpharetta and met up with Michelle. Peter thought it might be nice to meet at her parent's home since that was where Michelle was staying, and after all, it would be nice to say hello to her parents after all the years!

An impromptu evening turned into a wonderful night with Peter, Michelle and her parents talking about the "Good Ole' Days!" Peter and Michelle found themselves talking for most of the night and into the morning hours.

Weeks went by and the two began talking on a more regular basis. With each day that passed, it was clear to both Peter and Michelle that they were a great fit for each other. They had the same passion for racing, the same drive to be successful in their careers, and both believed in 'family-first'. It just felt natural.

As things continued to progress between Peter and Michelle, there was still one important box that needed to be checked; it was time for Michelle to meet Peter's girls – his world – to see if it truly was a match. Immediately, everyone knew that it was a perfect fit. The four of them were comfortable from the beginning, and it seemed like everyone had been together for years! Even Michelle's new puppy Duke loved his snuggles from day one with the girls.

From there, you can say that the rest was history! In January of 2017, Michelle officially made the move to Jefferson, Georgia, with Peter and the girls along with their French Bulldog Duke.
