Jessica was raised in a military family by Ronald and Rikki Battersby. She grew up in Germany and Belgium with her sister Madison. She went to college in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Alabama with her parents. She has been in Alabama since 2012. In February of 2015, she went to the police academy and met Matthew Dickerson. (There will be more on that story later!) She is now a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.

Matthew was raised in Alabama with his mother Dayna and Grandparents, Cheryl and Jim Ed Lowery, while getting to visit his father, who is in the military, all over the country.  His father is currently stationed in Germany with his Stepmother three younger siblings. Matthew grew up in Gulf Shores and Prattville, Alabama. In February of 2015, he went to the police academy in Montgomery and met Jessica Battersby.
