Steven's view of how the proposal plans came about:

Soon I began to formulate my plan to find the perfect Ring-Pop.  The first chance I got I began to summon the pops of the world.  At first a trickle, but soon it was evident that a river of rings would be necessary to find the perfect one.  The minutes turned to hours turned to days as I poured through the endless torrent of oversized candy rings.  I knew the perfect one was there, but would I ever find it?  After a painful eternity I finally pulled forth a perfect pink and blue diamond of sugar.  I knew it would be the one.  I  immediately flew with it to Florida to present it to my love. And it melted on the way.  All was not lost, for I knew this would very likely happen as I am extremely unlucky.   I had secretly hidden two spare rings at home, and waited for my chance.

Then inspiration truly struck.  If I couldn't ask her to marry me in our native lands in front of our families, then I would offer up the cheesiest proposal possible! Biding my time, I waited for Valentine's Day.  After preparing a sumptuous meal, Cheryl and I presented cards to one another. That's when Steven struck! He deftly palmed the ring box as Cheryl read her card, he went to her side, and asked for her hand in marriage.

Cheryl's view of the actual proposal:

Let's back up a moment, and provide you with some history. Ever since their first Christmas together, we have exchanged excessively glittery cards for all holidays, and life events. I feel it is almost a contest to see who can find the one with the most glitter, and then there is glitter every where for weeks to come.

Now back to our proposal story...

Steven and I exchanged cards that evening after dinner. Steven gave me a Valentines card with a dinosaur one the front. He was holding his arms up, saying "I love you this much!". But it was a Tiranasaurous Rex. It was extremely silly, and just like Steven. Only, it didn't have an glitter, so I was extremely confused. Steven wasn't playing by the rules! Steven got up from the table to put the Reese's I bought him, in the freezer and grabbed what looked like another card. He sat back down and gave me a second card. I opened it, noticed the glitter and started reading. The card started with "I feel so lucky this Valentine's Day. Lucky to be engaged to someone so wonderful..." I stopped reading at this point and looked up at Steven, only to notice him walking around the table and getting down on one knee. As he started to propose, he opened a ring box for me to see... a blue and purple ring pop! I couldn't help but bust out laughing! Of course, I said yes!
