Bride

We were on vacation in Australia, where TJ took his first plane ride, and we met my sister and her husband who flew from South Korea, and my dad who flew from China. We went to see the Opera House, and as usual, we stopped for pictures (my sister and I love taking pictures and so does TJ). So me and TJ stood in front of the Opera House while my family was taking normal pictures, or what I thought were normal pictures. I stood there smiling, with TJ's arm around me, and he just started talking, saying things like "you know I love you, right?" and "you know I want to be with you forever, right?" And I'm standing there like "hey, babe, quit talking, they're trying to take pictures of us!" But little did I know, he was trying to propose! He got down on one knee, right there in front of the Opera House, while my family was taking pictures. Just like a fairytale. (Lucky for me, my sister told me she wore a dress that day even though it was cold, because she knew I would wear a dress too if she did, and she wanted me to look pretty for my proposal :) )

First, let me say that keeping a secret from that girl is one of the hardest things I will ever have to do. We tell each other everything all the time...that being said, I think it is very impressive that I was able to hold on to that ring for the 4 months I had it. The fact that we were going to Australia made me think that I really could make this a truly memorable experience for me and Jen. So I waited until the trip. I was a little worried about making it through airport security with the ring. I put it in my carry-on bag in a pair of shoes I had. I had never flown on a plane before in my life before this, so I didn't know how that stuff worked. Anyways--we got to Australia and I knew that it was going to be worth the wait. That country is down right gorgeous in more ways than one. From the time we got to the hotel room and Jen went into the bathroom, I took the ring out of my carry on bag and into my pocket. I had no idea when I would propose, but I knew that it would be in Sydney, so I had about a week or so to do it. The first day I was so jet lagged and sick that I fell asleep early while everyone went to dinner. Little did everyone know, at that time, even though I was sick and tired...I started to google amazing places in Sydney that I could ask her at. I found a handful of places, but when day 2 or 3 hit and we got in front of that Opera House, I just knew this was the time. It was such a beautiful sight and Jen was looking so amazing I had to do it. I told her that I want her to always know that she can count on me and that I will forever love her. She was like "shut up I know you love me, we are taking pictures and you're going to look stupid if you keep talking". I got down on one knee and she said "what are you doing? OMG". Automatically I had to smile because she hit me with the OMG. I said some words of truth about how I feel about her and how I feel about us and everything else then on has been smooth sailing.
